English for Families

Description

Children
Students practise English in a class that enables them to try out new language in a supportive environment. Very young learners are introduced to English through songs, games and spoken activities.

Parents

Parents can join any of our adult courses.

*this course is only available when at least one parent/guardian enrols on a course that coincides with the junior schedule ie General English 15 or MAX 4 courses

Aims and objectives

Students will develop the confidence to initiate conversations, express themselves with increasing accuracy both in the spoken and written word, and expand their vocabulary at an appropriate level .

Progression routes

Children can move on to study for the Starters, Movers and Flyers Young Learners’ Cambridge Examinations, or for older children the KET, PET and FCE for Schools qualifications.

Junior Courses

Half Day Junior Programme: 9.00 – 12.20
Runs all year: guaranteed start on any Monday
Morning: classes 15 hours per week (9.00 – 12.20)
Class size: Maximum 15 students

Full Day Junior programme: 9.00 – 16.30
Runs all year: guaranteed start on any Monday
Morning: classes 15 hours per week (9.00 – 12.20)
Afternoon: lunch and afternoon activities (13:30 – 16.30)
*afternoon activities are organised as a family outside the summer period (entrance fees for adults are applicable)

Sample activities for the full day programme

Our organised programme of afternoon activities will enable students to learn about British culture, practise the social English that they have developed in the classroom, and make friends with fellow students from all over the world.
